Looking naturally healthy is always at the heart of any woman’s desire. Not only you look in the pink of health, think of the amount of money you have saved on cosmetics! But when you start to discover constant redness and flushing on your cheeks till blood vessels appear or redness with bumps and pimples popping up, you may want to take note that it could be Rosacea.

What is Rosacea?

“It is a chronic and potentially life-disruptive disorder primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions”
– Rosacea.org.
The truth is, many of us may not be aware but whenever
1. Our face flushes easily (no, it is not about the drinking) and it feels unpleasantly hot when that happens
2. Our face becomes hyper sensitive under sunlight that causes our blood vessels to dilate easily and appear or
3. We look like we are always in the sun because there’s always a patch of redness that never seemed to go away,
these are already symptoms of Rosacea.
Sometimes, more obvious signs could be a stinging sensation on the face, small red bumps or pus-filled pimples or even facial swelling, also known as edema. If you have been experiencing these symptoms but was unsure why, this could be the reason that you are looking for.
The common causes of Rosacea are usually due to family history, harsh environmental factors (especially if you find your skin acting up more than usual during this haze season) and people of fairer skin tone tend to get Rosacea, higher than others.
What can you do to address this?
Well, diet is always key when it comes to remedies. As the cliché saying goes – “You are what you eat”, your skin reflects on that too. Cutting down on alcohol, caffeine (yes, you can still live without Coffee, trust me) and dairy products can be the first immediate steps that will help. You may want to avoid being under the sunlight all the time or extreme temperatures as these are triggers of Rosacea as well.
Besides diet and lifestyle changes, there are natural ingredients that will help you treat this skin condition. Ingredients like Chamomile, Olive Leaf extract, green tea, and white birch bark to name a few, carry anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and relieve the pains of Rosacea.

At Caring Skin, we have a wide array of treatments to deal with sensitive skin, including Rosacea.

In the next post, we will share more on the products and treatments that will help you overcome this skin condition and you can be happier with your skin!
